These terms cover PerfuMate, at perfumate.app and as an Android app.
Agreeing to these terms
You accept these terms when you create an account, buy a plan, or publish or send anything in the community. If you use PerfuMate without an account, they apply to that use too. If you do not agree, do not use PerfuMate.
Who can use PerfuMate
You must be 16 or older. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission to buy a plan.
What PerfuMate is
A workspace for composing perfume formulas: a materials library, formula editing, scent profiles, batch records, and compliance figures. It is a tool for your own bench work.
Safety and compliance are yours
The IFRA and GHS figures PerfuMate shows are calculated from a bundled reference dataset and are there to help you think, not to certify anything. They are not legal, regulatory or safety advice, they can be out of date with the current amendment, and they do not replace your own verification or a qualified assessment. You are responsible for what you make, what you put on skin, and what you sell.
The same goes for every compliance tool: the IFRA check in the app and on this site, GHS hazard classification, Safety Data Sheet drafts, allergen declarations, bottle labels and the sale-ready pack.
- Tools, not certificates. Nothing PerfuMate produces is an IFRA Certificate of Conformity, a safety assessment, a Cosmetic Product Safety Report or a reviewed Safety Data Sheet. An SDS draft stays a draft until a qualified person has checked and signed it.
- Not affiliated with IFRA. PerfuMate is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to IFRA (the International Fragrance Association).
- The data is incomplete. Some inputs a full classification uses are not applied, for example acute toxicity estimates, M-factors and specific concentration limits, so a result can understate a hazard. Check your suppliers' Safety Data Sheets and certificates.
- Labels are partial. Bottle labels carry the name, content, the ingredient line and indicative hazard marks. They leave out things the law can require on a cosmetic, such as the responsible person, a durability or period-after-opening mark, and precautions.
- If you sell what you make, you do so as a business, and you alone are responsible for its safety, labelling, claims, notifications and compliance with the rules where you sell it, such as the EU and UK cosmetics regulations, CLP and GHS rules, and the US Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act.
Where those figures come from, said plainly because a safety document with no stated provenance is worth less than one that names its sources: the IFRA figures are read from the published IFRA Standards, and the GHS hazard classifications from the public PubChem PUG-View interface and the European Chemicals Agency's C&L Inventory. Hazard classes and H-statements are regulatory codes rather than anyone's writing, and both sources are published for reuse; we name them because that is the condition of using them, and because it tells you what to check a draft against.
Your account
You need an account for cloud backup, the community and AI Studio. Keep it to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under it.
Community rules
The community is for sharing perfume work. In posts, messages and your profile, do not share:
- anything illegal, or anything that helps someone break the law;
- hate, or attacks on people for who they are;
- harassment, threats, bullying or unwanted contact;
- sexual content;
- spam, scams or advertising nobody asked for;
- content that infringes someone else's copyright, trade mark or other rights, including another perfumer's formula shared without their permission;
- dangerous dosing or safety misinformation, such as advice to use a material above safe or legal limits, or false claims that something is safe;
- offers to sell products that are unsafe or illegal;
- impersonation of another person or brand.
Reporting and blocking. In the app you can report a post or a profile and block any account. A reported post is hidden while we review it. A block works both ways: neither of you sees the other's posts, and they cannot message you. A stranger's first message arrives as a request you can accept, decline or block. Anyone, with or without an account, can also report content, or complain about how we handled a report, by email to the support address below.
What we do. We review reports and may remove content, restore it, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or the law. When we remove your content or restrict your account, we tell you why by email, unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. If you think we got it wrong, reply and we will look again. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' rights or repeatedly break these rules.
Your work stays yours
Your formulas, materials and notes are yours. Publishing something to the community gives other users permission to see it and put it on their own bench, which is the point of publishing; nothing you keep private is shared.
Publishing also gives PerfuMate permission to host, copy and show what you published, in the app and on public pages of perfumate.app that search engines can index (not if your profile is private), for as long as it stays published. Remove it and that permission ends; a public page comes down at the next site update.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on PerfuMate infringes your copyright, email PerfuMate.Support@gmail.com with:
- your name, postal address, phone number and email;
- the work you say is infringed;
- where the material is on PerfuMate, with a link;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We remove or disable the material and tell the person who posted it. If they believe it was removed by mistake, they can send a counter-notice to the same address with their contact details, a link to the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, their consent to the court jurisdiction that US law (17 U.S.C. 512(g)) requires, and their signature.
That email address is where copyright notices and counter-notices go, including notices under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
The catalog
The materials catalog is PerfuMate's own work. CAS numbers and chemical names are facts and nobody owns them. Many of the trade names in it are registered trade marks of their owners: we use them only to identify the material a perfumer would buy under that name, and using them here is not a claim on them. The descriptions, the olfactive classifications, the constituent estimates, the substitute reasoning and the way it is all arranged are our own work.
You may read it, search it, use it at your bench, and quote or cite single entries anywhere with a link to the page. You may not copy it in bulk, republish it, redistribute the data, or use it to build or train a competing database, whether by scraping the site, downloading the app's bundle, or reading the catalog service. The free plan and the app license cover your own use; they do not transfer the data.
If you think an entry is wrong, reply to any email from us or write to the support address and it will be corrected and credited.
Trade marks
Trade names used in this catalog and on this site, including names such as Iso E Super, Hedione, Galaxolide, Ambroxan and Cashmeran, are the trade marks of their respective owners. PerfuMate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to any of them. We name them because a perfumer buys and weighs materials under those names and there is no other practical way to refer to them.
Plans and AI
There are two separate things to buy, and neither includes the other.
Plans come three ways, and they all open the same bench. Unlimited Monthly is $12.90 a month and Unlimited Yearly is $68.00 a year for new subscriptions; both renew until you cancel, and cancelling stops the next charge rather than the plan you have already paid for. Existing active monthly and yearly subscriptions keep their agreed rate until cancellation. Unlimited Lifetime is $119.98, bought once, and never renews. Every formulation tool is available with a free account; quantity is limited to 50 shelf materials, 3 formulas at a time, 3 exports in total across the account, and 3 saved versions per formula. Unlimited removes those four limits. Existing work above a limit is kept; these limits govern new additions, not deletion of your work.
Unlimited Lifetime also comes with 500 additional AI Studio credits, given once. It does not include an AI plan. If a Lifetime purchase is refunded, whatever is left of those 500 credits is taken back.
New accounts created after the October 22, 2026 policy rollout receive 100 trial AI Studio credits, valid for 7 days from account creation. Existing signup grants keep their original terms. Purchased credits, Lifetime credits, community rewards and plan allowances retain their own terms; the trial expiry does not remove credits from those other sources.
Eligible new formula publications earn up to 30 community credits; each new eligible reader who saves a formula earns its author up to 10 more. These rewards share one rolling 7-day cap: 100 credits on Free, 200 with Unlimited, or 500 with an active AI Studio plan, with or without Unlimited. Caps do not stack; changing plans does not reset the window. A reward can be reduced to the remaining room. Self-saves, reposts of the same recipe and save/unsave replays do not earn extra credits. Events that meet the cap are not queued to earn again in a later week.
Two earlier plans, Starter and Pro, were withdrawn on 19 August 2026. If you bought one it remains yours and is not cancelled: every account holding one was moved up to Lifetime Unlimited at no charge on that date, so a withdrawn plan can only ever have given you more than you paid for, never less.
AI plans are subscriptions, because every AI request costs us model time on the day it happens. Requests are paid in credits: a new full formula costs 10 credits and a new accord 7; an AI revision, creative retry or shelf rebuild costs what it produces, 7 for an accord and 10 for a full formula. These are the prices at the Instant thinking level, the default; a higher thinking level costs the multiple shown beside it in the app, from ×1.5 to ×5, rounded up to whole credits. On an AI plan, questions use no credits; otherwise a question costs 10 credits. Direct editor actions are always free. A plan is billed once per calendar month and refills its credits every 7 days while paid access remains active. Unused weekly credits do not roll over. Plans renew monthly until you cancel; cancelling stops future renewals, not access you have already paid for. Credits are spent when a request starts. If a request fails before it produces an answer, its credits come back automatically: always when the failure is on our side, and otherwise up to five times in 24 hours.
Both attach to your account, so anything bought on the web works in the Android app on the same account.
Website purchases are sold by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Where purchases are offered inside Android, they use Google Play. The store checkout shows the actual price, billing period and any eligible offer before you confirm a purchase. Lifetime Unlimited is refundable in full for 10 days, no questions asked. Anything that renews is cancelled rather than refunded: cancelling stops the next payment and the period already paid for runs to the date on the receipt. See the refund policy.
Purchases made before August 23, 2026 keep the policy published on the day of purchase, which was 30 days on every purchase, no questions asked. A change to the policy does not apply backwards.
Cancelling
You can cancel Monthly, Yearly or an AI plan at any time. For a Google Play subscription, use Google Play subscriptions with the Google account you used to buy it. Uninstalling PerfuMate does not cancel a store subscription. For website purchases, use either of two ways:
- online, in the billing portal at perfumate.lemonsqueezy.com/billing, signing in with the email you bought with;
- by email to PerfuMate.Support@gmail.com from that address. We handle it within 3 business days, and it counts from the day we receive it.
Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for. Lifetime never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. Step by step: how to cancel.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms takes away or limits a right you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, including any statutory right to withdraw from or cancel a purchase, or to a refund. Where that law gives you more than these terms, the law applies.
AI features
AI Studio and Lab Mate run on AI models from other companies (currently Anthropic and OpenAI; the privacy policy lists every provider).
- What they give you is generated by AI. It can be wrong, incomplete or unsafe, even when it sounds certain, and AI cannot smell.
- It is not professional, safety, medical, legal or regulatory advice.
- Check every figure before you weigh anything out, put it on skin or sell it, especially dosing and compliance. You are responsible for what you do with it.
- Lab Mate, where offered, is an AI voice assistant. You are talking to an AI, not a person: its voice and its words are generated by AI.
- What you create with AI is yours to use, to the extent any rights exist in it; someone else may get similar results. Do not use the AI features to break the law or the provider's usage policies.
Availability, and what we do not promise
PerfuMate is provided as it is and as it is available. We try hard to keep it running and the data correct, but to the extent the law allows we make no warranty of any kind about it: not that it will be uninterrupted or error free, not that the compliance figures are complete or current, and not that it fits any particular purpose you have in mind. Your local database lives on your own device, so keep your own backups of work you cannot lose.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, PerfuMate is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or lost sales, for lost or corrupted work, or for anything you make, sell or apply to skin using it. Where we are liable despite that, our total liability to you for all claims taken together is limited to what you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or twenty US dollars if you paid us nothing.
Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules where you live. If any part of this section is unenforceable where you are, the rest still applies.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and it does not stop you bringing a claim in your own local courts where that law gives you the right to.
Changes and ending
We may change our prices, our plans and these terms at any time. A change applies from when it is published on this page under a new "Last updated" date. It never applies backwards and never changes what you have already paid for:
- a one-time purchase, such as Lifetime or a credit pack, keeps everything it included when you bought it;
- a subscription keeps its current price until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. A new price applies only from a later renewal, after we have told you by email or in the app, and you can cancel before it applies.
Where another part of these terms promises you more, that promise still holds.
We announce material changes on this page and, where the law requires it, by email. If a change matters to a paid plan you hold, we tell you before it applies to your plan, and you can cancel before it does.
If you keep using PerfuMate after a change applies to you, you accept it. If you do not agree, you can stop using PerfuMate and cancel (how to cancel). You can also stop at any time by deleting your account (how to delete).
