PerfuMate in ChatGPT and Claude

Check a perfume formula against IFRA inside ChatGPT or Claude. Free, no account.

Add PerfuMate once, then ask in plain words: what a material smells like, how much of it IFRA allows, whether your formula passes, or where to start. The answers come from PerfuMate's own catalog and IFRA engine, and each one can open the formula in PerfuMate.

What does Hedione smell like, and is IFRA restricting it?

HedioneCAS 24851-98-7

Transparent, radiant jasmine with a soft citrus-magnolia freshness; almost airy, more an effect than a smell on the blotter. A cornerstone diffuser used at high levels to add volume, lift and natural bloom to jasmine, floral and citrus accords.

How to add it

One time, about a minute. Availability depends on your region and your plan in ChatGPT or Claude.

In ChatGPT

Coming soon. PerfuMate is waiting for OpenAI's approval, and this page gets the link the day it is approved.

In Claude

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector.
  2. Name it PerfuMate and paste this address.

What linking your account adds

Reading or changing your own formulas and shelf requires PerfuMate Unlimited or an AI Studio plan.

Linking is optional. It is free with any PerfuMate account, and your plan's limits apply, the same as in the app. Sign in from the connector and the chat can work on your own bench: it reads your formulas and shelf, and it changes them only when you ask.

  • Your formulasOpen, read, edit and save versions of a formula you already have.
  • Your shelfCheck what you own, add a bottle, make a dilution, find a substitute.
  • Your notes and batchesLog a batch, write a note, keep the shopping list.
  • Safe by designNothing is deleted until you confirm it, and a locked formula is never touched.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Finding a material, looking one up, checking a formula and starting a formula cost nothing and need no PerfuMate account, and they use no credits. Linking an account is free with any PerfuMate account; your plan's limits apply, the same as in the app. Your ChatGPT or Claude plan decides whether you can add a connector.

Do I need a PerfuMate account?

No. The four lookups work without signing in. An account is only needed if you want the chat to read and change your own formulas and shelf.

Is the IFRA result a certificate?

No. It is a reference check against the IFRA 51st Amendment, Category 4 (fine fragrance) and EU allergen labelling. Confirm each material against your supplier's IFRA certificate before you sell a product.

What does PerfuMate see of what I type?

The four lookups need no account, and they use no AI model on PerfuMate's side. The hosting provider keeps ordinary request logs for a short time. The privacy policy describes exactly what is kept.

Where do the numbers come from?

From PerfuMate's catalog of 2,211 described perfumery materials and the same IFRA and EU allergen engine that runs the IFRA calculator on this site. Naturals are counted by the molecules inside them where a published breakdown exists.

How do I add it to Claude?

Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector, and paste https://perfumate.app/mcp. No sign-in is needed for the four lookups.

How do I add it to ChatGPT?

The ChatGPT listing is coming soon. PerfuMate is waiting for OpenAI's approval, and this page gets the link the day it is approved. Claude works today.

How do I remove it?

Remove PerfuMate from the apps or connectors list in your ChatGPT or Claude settings. If you linked an account, you can also disconnect it from PerfuMate's connection page.
