Robertet describes it as floral, a sophisticated orris note, precious and powdery, with violet and watery facets. The house calls it reminiscent of the orris butter at a good price/quality ratio, so it is the material a formula reaches for when it wants the cosmetic-powder, violet-tinged rootiness of orris without paying orris butter prices. In a blend it works low and slow as a soft powdery cushion under florals, adding a faintly damp, precious quality rather than any brightness of its own. Sold for perfumery use only.
