What does Isoraldeine 70 smell like?
Givaudan's 70 percent gamma-methyl ionone grade: a dry, floral violet-orris character with woody and slightly leathery undertones, a creamy powdery body and a warm beeswax-like drydown. It is the muscular grade, drier and more orris-like than the 95 and with the substantivity to push through woods and leathers rather than sit above them; roughly 184 hours on a smelling strip. Core material for violet, orris, iris, leather and powdery accords, and the workhorse choice in fougeres and large-volume production where the 95 is too expensive. Not interchangeable with the 95: swapping grades changes the dryness, not just the strength.
