What does Coumarone smell like?

Symrise gives the odour as balsamic, tonka and orange flower, and files the material under balsamic. In a formula it provides a soothing, powdery richness to floriental fragrances, underlines typical heliotrope characteristics, and adds balsamic aspects to fruit notes like grape and plum. The published odour threshold in air is 0.0050 ug/l, but it is dosed generously by the standards of that figure, which tells you it blends rather than dominates. It ships as white to beige crystals and needs dissolving. Symrise recommends 0.1 to 5 percent. Note the name carefully: this is benzofuran-2-yl methyl ketone, not the plain benzofuran that the word coumarone usually denotes, and it is not coumarin either.

Every regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the 558 materials carrying no CAS number the 257 without a constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than "nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row: no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point. The longer answer, or the whole catalog counted.
