IFF describe it as a diffusive floral effect reminiscent of a combination of lilac, rose and geranium, while The Good Scents Company files the same CAS under a leathery odour type and reads it at 10% as leather, red rose, green, dusty, weedy and metallic. Despite the name it is not a patchouli material. In a formula it is an inexpensive, very stable diffusion booster: it lifts and radiates a rose, geranium or lilac accord and leaves a discreet suede-leather shadow underneath. Non-discolouring and stable in almost everything including soap, with a tenacity of about 12 hours on the blotter.
