It reads as a fresher, less jammy rose than damascena absolute, so in a formula it works as the rose itself rather than as a rose modifier: it gives a transparent petal heart that stays soft under aldehydes and does not fight citrus, and its tea-and-hay drydown ties a floral heart into dry woods, tobacco or hay accords without an added bridge. The variety is the Crimean 'Lani' rose, now grown in Moldova with local partner farms, and Mane states it is the only house still extracting it.
