What does Irisnitrile smell like?
Symrise's own sheet gives it as Floral, Iris, Orris, Green. It is a raw, penetrating green-fatty iris note with enormous diffusion and radiance, the nitrile reading of orris rather than the buttery irone reading. In a formula it is the fastest way to put orris and violet volume into a floral-woody or green-floral accord, and it pushes the dry, powdery, cosmetic side of iris rather than the creamy side. Symrise recommends 0.05 to 0.5 percent and sells it pre-diluted at 1 percent, which is a fair warning about how little of it a formula wants.
