What does Dihydro Ambrate smell like?

Givaudan files it in the ambery family, with an ambrette-leaning dry woody character. Its job in a formula is structural: it gives richness and balance to compounds, strengthening them and adding warmth and fullness, and it can also be used simply as a diffusive woody note. Tenacity on blotter is about one day, so it works in the heart rather than as a long fixative, and it holds up strongly in soap, powder detergent, fabric care and shampoo bases.
