What does Amber Gamma smell like?
Privi gives the character simply as "Woody, Ambery": a smooth, dry, transparent woody-amber of the octahydrotetramethyl acetonaphthone family, more a velvet backdrop than a sharp cedar. What separates it from an ordinary grade of that chemistry is the declared isomer split, with an alpha and beta balance of its own and a charm peak specified in the low single-digit percent range, because it is the charm isomer that carries most of the perceived odour. Privi publishes a tenacity of about one week and a use level up to ten percent, which is the clue to how it behaves: low impact per drop, but it takes large doses without shouting and it lifts and rounds everything around it. Standard duty is as a volume and diffusion booster under woods, amber and musk.
