What does Cyclabute smell like?

IFF gives a fruity pineapple, peach and mango top note with amber and chocolate nuances; TGSC lists the odour at medium strength as "fruity amber chocolate anise basil". It is the isobutyrate of the same tricyclodecenyl alcohol that gives Cyclacet and Cyclaprop, and IFF notes it carries markedly less of their anise-basil edge. What separates it from ordinary fruity esters is persistence: TGSC publishes 344 hours on the blotter at 100%, so it works as a heart-note fruit that does not evaporate off the accord in the first hour.
