What does Agarwood Artessence smell like?

A nature-identical reconstitution of oud oil. Suppliers describe it as woody, animalic, balsamic, earthy, spicy and leathery, with a good dose of the barnyard smell present in a lot of oud oils. It is a pale brown to brown viscous liquid, specific gravity around 1.0, miscible with alcohol, DPG, IPM and most carrier oils, with a published blotter substantivity of 240 hours. In a formula it is the affordable stand-in for oud oil: a heavy animalic base that anchors woody and amber accords and carries the funk that a cleaner oud base deliberately leaves out. Retailers point perfumers wanting a drier, cleaner, woodier profile to a plain oud wood base instead.

Every regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the 540 materials carrying no CAS number the 248 without a constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than "nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row: no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point. The longer answer, or the whole catalog counted.
