A pale brown liquid with a deep, well-balanced woody-animalic signature, rich balsamic warmth, a subtle spicy heat and controlled musky-leather undertones that read convincingly as agarwood. This is Firmenich's general-purpose oud, deliberately not tied to one terroir: per the house's own glossary a FIRBEST is a co-extraction of natural and synthetic ingredients that does NOT contain the named material, so it carries no agarwood and is CITES-free. In a formula it is a broad oud foundation and a heavy fixative for oriental and woody accords, without the batch-to-batch swing or the price of a real oud oil.
