What does Vetikolacetat smell like?
Symrise gives the odour as fruity, grapefruit, rhubarb, vetiver and green pepper. It is the ester counterpart to Vetikon and smells tart and stalky rather than sweet. In a formula it underlines the green-woody elements of vetiver, makes spicy and green compositions livelier and more intense, and imparts the bitterness of grapefruit, which is what stops a citrus top from turning candied. The house recommends 0.1 to 10 percent.
