What does Gardamide smell like?
Givaudan gives Gardamide as a zesty grapefruit citrus heart note with aspects of crisp rhubarb, delivering long-lasting citrus freshness and working well alongside other citrus and earthy green notes. Being an amide, N,2-dimethyl-N-phenylbutyramide, rather than a terpene, it holds for several days on the blotter and stays put in fabric conditioner, antiperspirant, shampoo and detergent bases where citrus oils vanish. In a formula its job is to keep grapefruit alive past the top: it sits under bergamot and grapefruit oils and carries their zest into the heart, with the rhubarb edge sharpening green and earthy accords.
