A fresh and powerful fruity grapefruit-zest odour with hints of green, floral and transparent notes. Suppliers describe it as stronger, much longer lasting and more grapefruit-like than the natural oil, without decaying into the sulphurous notes that spoil aged grapefruit oil, and with minimal photosensitising effect. In a formula it is the workhorse grapefruit: used generously it becomes the body of a grapefruit accord, and at low levels it lifts and sharpens any citrus opening while surviving far longer than the oil would.
