What does Verdima smell like?
Nez describes Verdima as an IFF molecule evoking tomato leaf, rediscovered from the house archive where it had sat since 1949, and used by Domitille Michalon-Bertier to build a vegetal Speed Smelling 2022 composition backed by armoise heart and the sweet burn of Timur pepper CO2 extract. It is a leafy green of the tomato-leaf type, sharp and vegetal rather than floral or herbal-aromatic, sitting at the opening of a green structure. Its structure and CAS are unpublished, so an overlap with a green material already on the shelf cannot be ruled out.

Every
regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can
supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the
540 materials carrying no CAS number the 248 without a
constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than
"nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app
labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row:
no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point.
