What does Sandal Forest smell like?

An IFF sandalwood base the supplier presents as a sensory journey through the woods, with a wet earth character, peppery freshness and a soft creamy sandalwood note. Its listed facets are camphorous, earthy, herbal, orangeflower, patchouli, sandalwood, turmeric and woody, so it reads far drier and rootier than a classic creamy sandalwood base: damp forest floor and peppery turmeric first, the milky wood sitting behind them.
