What does Dreamwood Base smell like?

A sandalwood base taking its inspiration from Mysore sandalwood, built around Dreamwood, Firmenich's captive from white biotechnology, and rounded out with the house's other sandalwood molecules, several of them captive. The traditional woody creamy warmth of sandalwood is brought forward rather than reconstructed from a single note. In a formula it brings naturality and a natural effect, impressive tenacity, warmth and creaminess, and the house positions it as a cost-effective alternative to sandalwood essential oil. It holds around 400 hours on a blotter, with good substantivity damp and dry and excellent burning effectiveness. Note that this is the compounded base, not the raw Dreamwood captive.

What is Dreamwood Base made of?

What the supplier DECLARES, not the whole formula. A base is a blend somebody else made: an IFRA conformity certificate and an allergen declaration list the restricted and declarable substances only, so these shares add up to a few percent and the remainder stays with the house. PerfuMate counts exactly what is listed here and claims nothing about the rest.

Every regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the 569 materials carrying no CAS number the 244 without a constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than "nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row: no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point. The longer answer, or the whole catalog counted.
