What does Mandaril smell like?
Symrise gives the odour as citrus, mandarin, orange and coriander leaf. It is an isomer mixture of tridecadienenitriles with, in Symrise's own words, outstanding strength and tenacity, which is what a citrus nitrile is for: it holds a juicy mandarin and orange note in places a cold-pressed peel oil would fade or discolour. It boosts those notes, enhances fruity fragrances, and combines well with orange blossom components. The published odour threshold in air is 0.0063 ug/l and it boils at 296.4 C, so it is both loud and long, unusual for anything reading as citrus. Symrise recommends 0.01 to 2 percent.
