What does Herbac smell like?
The Good Scents Company classes the odour type as thujonic at medium strength and describes it as woody, herbal, cedar leaf, thujone and minty, adding that it is powerful, with camphor, earthy, eucalyptus, wet and minty facets. The molecule is 1-(3,3-dimethylcyclohexyl)ethanone, a ketone that reads like the dry resinous top of cedarleaf oil without the oil's weight or its bitterness. In a formula it is an aromatic and fougere worker: it sharpens lavender and sage, carries a cool camphoraceous lift down into a woody base, and a small dose gives an outdoor, crushed-herb impression that holds through the heart.
