What does Cyclademol smell like?
DRT, who own the name, describe it as "Minty aromatic, camphoraceous, metallic"; The Good Scents Company records the same material as camphoreous minty, and Privi, who sell it under the generic chemistry name, give "Camphoricious, minty". So the reading is consistent across three sources: a cool, sharp, aromatic-mint top with a camphor lift and a slightly metallic edge, not a sweet spearmint. Privi publishes a tenacity of about three hours, so it is a genuine top note that opens a fougere, a herbal or a functional accord with cold air and then hands off. DRT also note it is very stable in acidic media, which is why it turns up in low-pH home care. The metallic facet is the risk: overdose and it reads harsh and cleaning-product rather than aromatic.
