What does Coumarex DB smell like?

IFF's branded coumarin and tonka base, classified by the supplier as balsamic with an odour of sweet, balsam, coumarin, fruity, tobacco, hay, woody, nutty and tonka. A colorless to pale yellow liquid, it gives the new-mown-hay and tonka-bean sweetness of coumarin in a rounder, more three-dimensional form than the crystalline material, with tobacco and nutty facets filling in underneath. In a formula it is the fougere and oriental workhorse: it sweetens and warms a base, blurs the join between woods and vanilla, and holds around 200 hours on a blotter.

Every regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the 558 materials carrying no CAS number the 257 without a constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than "nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row: no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point. The longer answer, or the whole catalog counted.
