What does Ambergris Synth smell like?

dsm-firmenich place it in the Ambery family and give the odour as amber, dry, woody, leather, animal and smoky. It is a well balanced association of ingredients, some of which are captives, blended to reconstruct the complexity of natural ambergris with no animal extract, and it ships as a thick brown to dark brown viscous liquid that can set solid when cold. In a formula it behaves as a whole base-note structure rather than one effect: it brings warmth, depth and diffusion to ambery orientals, spicy fougeres and rich chypres, and it is more even and more structured than a natural tincture, so it adds depth without taking the composition over.
