Bench tincture of cured vanilla beans macerated in perfumer's alcohol at 10 to 20 percent: soft, rounded, boozy-balsamic vanilla keeping the bean's dried-fruit and faintly leathery complexity, far gentler than the absolute. The traditional way to carry vanilla into a formula at volume without the absolute's viscosity, cost or dark color.
