An alcoholic infusion of cured Madagascar vanilla pods, made by the traditional maceration of vegetal material in alcohol and traceable to the farm through the house's Path2Farm platform. dsm-firmenich describes it as creamy, leathery and woody, profound, sensual and animalic, sitting on a sweet vanillin, balsamic-woody body. In a formula it is a natural gourmand bottom note that deepens floral and amber compositions. Because it is an infusion rather than an absolute it carries far less odorous material per gram, so it is dosed generously where an absolute would be dosed sparingly, and it should never be substituted one-for-one for vanilla absolute.
