IFF's data sheet places it in the floral territory as muguet, fresh, freesia, and their perfumers call it a clear, crisp and clean straightforward note that gives volume and body to a fragrance. It rounds off green aldehydic muguet notes very well and is useful in building lemon and mandarin fresh citrus types and watery transparent effects. Note that IFF supply it as a blend, an isobutyl cyclohexyl propanal carried in Muguesia rather than a single molecule, so it has no single CAS and the strength on the bench is that of a solution; typical use is up to 5 percent, with substantivity over 72 hours.
