Givaudan says it brings a spectacular blooming and natural, transparent and fresh rose petal effect with fruity-juicy undertones. The point of the material is bloom: it opens a rose accord out rather than deepening it, giving petal freshness where citronellol and geraniol would give weight, and Givaudan's perfumers describe it as very easy to blend in almost all olfactive directions. It is claimed at roughly five times the performance of citronellol, so it is used in small proportion against a classic rose base. The molecule is a biodegradable, non-sensitising Givaudan captive with no published CAS.
