What does Olive Fruit Absolute smell like?
Hermitage describe olive absolute as capturing the fresh, peppery, briny aroma of olives: a humid, balmy, oily opening with a mild blue-cheese nuance that develops into the cooler, refined character of a Mediterranean breeze, its greenness being that of sumptuous unripened olives with hints of green apple and pear rather than of grass or leaf, and they report up to ten hours on the tester strip. Fraterworks describe the same material as rich fruity-green with a distinctive fatty olive character and an unctuous lactonic quality over freshly cut grass, green leaves and ripe olives, supplied as a pale green liquid and placed as a heart note. In a formula it strengthens and modernises green notes, taking the hard edge off green synthetics, and it is reported to blend surprisingly well with seaweed absolute. Note that this is an olfactory extract of the fruit and is a different material from the fixed olive oil used as a carrier.

Every
regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can
supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the
540 materials carrying no CAS number the 248 without a
constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than
"nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app
labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row:
no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point.
