What does Gingerbread Jungle Essence smell like?
A supercritical CO2 capture of real gingerbread, baked from a recipe prepared by a baker, extracted cold so the molecular complexity survives. It holds not only the smell of the ingredients but the Maillard reactions of the oven itself, which is why it carries the aroma of baked sugar and butter and is described as close to reality. Until this existed a perfumer could only reconstitute the note by assembling ginger, vanilla and tonka into an accord; here the whole pastry arrives as one material, warm, honeyed and comforting, to sit in the heart of a gourmand and give it an oven-warm centre a built accord never quite reaches.
