Absolute pulled from the waters left when bitter-orange twigs and leaves are distilled for petitgrain: deep bitter green, true to a leaf torn off the tree, with a musty hay warmth, a faint smoky edge and only a ghost of orange-flower sweetness underneath. It bridges petitgrain and orange blossom, and a trace lends real-flower naturalness to neroli, jasmine and gardenia accords.
