What does Cedar Ketol smell like?
Privi describes it as "Woody ambery with velvet like with cedar sensation", that is a cedar impression delivered soft rather than pencil-sharp, with an ambery warmth wrapped around it. It is a mixture of saturated alcohols, not a ketone, so it does not behave like the usual woody-amber workhorses even where the effect overlaps. Privi publishes a tenacity of about one week and a use level up to twenty percent, which is unusually generous and tells you this is a body and texture material: dose it heavily to give a woody accord smoothness and staying power without adding harshness. Good under cedar, vetiver and amber, and useful when a cedar note needs rounding rather than reinforcing.
