Musty rooty earth with a sour cheesy-animalic funk from free isovaleric acid, resting on a warm camphoraceous-balsamic bornyl acetate body. Funkier and more sweat-driven than spikenard, which is drier and spicier; a trace-level fixative that gives leather, chypre and amber bases a living, unwashed depth.
