What does Rose Damascena FIRAD smell like?
Floral, rosy, spicy, honeyed and balsamic. The profile specific to the FIRAD process is very fresh and watery, reminiscent of eau de rose with hints of litchi. It is a cold concentration of the water-soluble volatile fractions present in Bulgarian rose water, highly concentrated in odorant molecules, which is why it carries the dewy, phenylethanol-rich side of the flower that an otto, a concrete or an absolute leaves behind in the still water. Use it where a rose has to read fresh, transparent and alive rather than rich and jammy; it will not substitute for a rose oil, it supplies the half that oil is missing.
