What does Plicatone smell like?
The Good Scents Company describes it as a natural herbal, woody and fruity note that recalls artemisia, pine, juniper berry and cedar, over a slightly fruity undertone, and rates its odour strength as medium. In a formula it acts as a herbal-woody bridge: one material carries both the artemisia and juniper facet of an aromatic top and the cedar facet of a dry woody base, so it links the two without adding a raw herb oil. It is a Firmenich captive ketone, colourless, boiling around 271 to 272 degrees C, which puts its persistence in the heart rather than the top.
