What does Mousse de Saxe 18 DL smell like?

Symrise's 21st-century reimagining of the 1922 de Laire base, deliberately lighter than the original. Scentspiracy describe an interpretation that emphasises the oakmoss character with iodized and marine notes, intentionally reducing the darkness of the bold leathery-green original while preserving its heritage; fucus absolute supplies the seaweed side that moss carries and the Symrise captive Spicatanate brings freshness, and the result is called very complex yet very true to the spirit of the original. In a formula it lays a modern mossy-marine chypre floor that a contemporary brief can actually carry. It is not interchangeable with the classic isobutyl-quinoline Mousse de Saxe recreation, which is far darker, more leathery and animalic, and it will be weighed differently against it.
