What does Mimosa Flowers Olessence smell like?
Robertet's listing gives a delicate and sweet honey and spicy anisic aroma, and states the product is a low-temperature extraction captured onto natural nerolidol. Suppliers and perfumers describe it as delicate, fresh, yellow floral with a potent anisic note, less herbal than traditional mimosa absolute and much truer to the living flower, without the green and woody aspects the absolute carries. Because the aromatic material is already borne on a nerolidol carrier it is far less concentrated and far less sticky than the absolute, so it is dosed generously rather than in traces. In a formula it is the mimosa to reach for when the absolute would go herbal or muddy, and its anisic sweetness makes it a good modifier in fruity, powdery and soft oriental accords.
