What does Limediene smell like?
Bedoukian's own copy calls it a powerful lemon-lime topnote drying down to an exquisite black Perigord truffle, and sells it for a combination of lemon-lime, tropical, marine and watery notes. TGSC rates the odour high, asks for a dilute solution on the blotter, and measures the blotter life at under an hour. In a formula it is a spark rather than a note: a trace aerates and blooms a citrus, cool-water or floral opening and gives lift in functional bases, then leaves the drydown untouched. Push it and the sulfurous truffle-and-garlic underside shows, so it is dosed in traces from a weak solution.

Every
regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can
supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the
558 materials carrying no CAS number the 257 without a
constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than
"nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app
labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row:
no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point.
