dsm-firmenich and Perfumer's Apprentice describe it as an olfactive reproduction of the fragrance of ripe raspberries. Fraterworks expands that to a realistic ripe raspberry, sweet and tart in equal measure, juicy and jammy with a seedy, slightly green freshness, and TGSC files the same raspberry specialty as berry, fruity, jammy and juicy with cotton-candy and tropical facets. In a formula it is a ready-made berry heart rather than a single effect: it carries fruity accords and fruity-floral hearts on its own, turns a chypre toward jam as a modifier, and holds on the blotter far longer than the single raspberry ketones do, so even a trace keeps a berry impression alive under the drydown.
