What does Elemi SFE smell like?
Firmenich's own supercritical CO2 extract of elemi gum (939865), described as spicy, peppery, lemony: a fresh top note with a green facet over a bottom note that evokes frankincense and pink peppercorn. Extraction at low temperature and pressure preserves the natural profile of the raw gum, so it is cleaner, more vertical and more faithful to the resin than the steam-distilled oil, with more depth behind the lemon. Firmenich position it to add a fresh note to woody, spicy and zesty perfumes, mainly masculine ones; it pairs naturally with pink pepper, cardamom and olibanum for a resinous spice opening.
