Peppery and bright with a pronounced lemon-peel citrus lift, a green terpenic edge and a dry woody trail, the smell of red huajiao husk rather than true pepper. Distinct from Timut in being more lemon than grapefruit; the numbing sanshools are non-volatile, so the oil reads as citrus-spice sparkle for colognes and woody tops.
