What does Bois des Landes smell like?
Robertet describes fir balsam undertones under a fruity-blackcurrant top note, carrying what the house calls a strong pine trees forest headspace, over a balsamic dry-down. The vendor adds a second image for it: dried fallen leaves in autumn warmed by hot sunshine. In a formula it is a whole forest floor in one bottle, the co-extraction giving you the resin, the needles and the cedarwood body together rather than asking you to build them. Use it as the spine of a coniferous or fougere accord and let ordinary cedarwood sit behind it. Perfumers report it takes over a blend quickly, so it wants careful dosage, and the material thickens toward a gel with age, so warm it before weighing.
