A FirAbs co-extraction of natural and synthetic ingredients in which the natural part is Hibiscus abelmoschus, the ambrette seed. Firmenich position the FirAbs process as a way to impart the natural feeling and evaporation profile of the botanical to a formula, so its job is to give an ambrette accord the roundness and gradual unfolding of the absolute while behaving predictably. In practice it sits where you would otherwise reach for ambrette absolute, but it is a different material and weighs differently, running more vertical and airy than the absolute it substitutes for.
