What does Violiff smell like?

An IFF captive released to the open market, chemically cyclooct-4-en-1-yl methyl carbonate. Perfumer's Apprentice gives it as floral, violet leaf, green and marigold with fruity banana notes; ScenTree files it under green with fatty and medicinal facets and calls its effect in violet leaf compositions fresh, heady and aromatic. It is an intense violet-leaf material with a genuine floral quality rather than the flat crushed-stem greenness of the classic violet leaf chemicals, and the banana-ester edge is what separates it from Folione. Head to heart impact, holding a blotter past six hours, with very good damp and good dry substantivity, so it survives soap and deodorant bases.

Every regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the 558 materials carrying no CAS number the 257 without a constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than "nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row: no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point. The longer answer, or the whole catalog counted.
