Musk, animalic, leathery and sweet: an IFF Oliffac speciality built on a Galaxolide (HHCB) skeleton, roughly 55% in dipropylene glycol, deliberately tweaked away from the usual clean Galaxolide signature and toward the depth of natural deer musk. The wider profile runs musk, amber, woody, powdery, balsamic, creamy, old wood and leather. Neat it opens with a feral, almost phenolic leather punch reminiscent of wet hide, then settles into a honeyed, skin-warm sweetness. In a formula it is the animalic backbone under a musk accord, giving body and a naturalistic dirtiness that a plain polycyclic musk cannot. It solidifies when cold and will re-crystallise even at moderate temperatures, so warm it gently in a water bath before weighing.

Every
regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can
supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the
540 materials carrying no CAS number the 248 without a
constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than
"nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app
labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row:
no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point.
