What does Indolene 50 smell like?
IFF's Schiff base of indole and hydroxycitronellal, listed simply as floral, jasmin, animal. The condensation creates a jasmine character that neither parent molecule has on its own: the raw fecal edge of indole is tamed into a warm, narcotic white-floral body with only a slight animalic growl left showing. Exceptionally tenacious. Sold only as a 50 percent solution in benzyl benzoate or DEP because the neat material is an intensely coloured viscous liquid, so it is weighed at double the neat dose. Use it to extend and deepen natural jasmine absolute, or to give a synthetic jasmine, tuberose or orange blossom accord the indolic weight it otherwise lacks.

Every
regulatory join - IFRA, GHS, allergens - is by CAS number, and a material can
supply one through its constituents as well as its own row, so of the
540 materials carrying no CAS number the 248 without a
constituent table are the ones that return "nothing known" rather than
"nothing applies". The blotter hours are sourced rather than measured by us, and the app
labels every one of them an estimate. There is no physical chemistry on a row:
no molecular weight, no vapour pressure, no boiling point.
