Methyl atrarate, the crystalline heart of oakmoss odor: dry, mossy-phenolic, slightly sweet and earthy-woody with remarkable fixative smoothness. The standard allergen-free route to mossy chypre effects, usually combined with traces of real moss or Orcinyl 3.
