What does Dewfruit ABQ2977 smell like?
The Quest International speciality coded ABQ2977, now carried by Givaudan. Perfumer's Apprentice describe it as an exotic fruit, lychee and raspberry with a touch of herbal green, a very elegant fruity blend used in many popular modern perfumes; Hekserij read the same base as forest fruits, especially raspberry and blackcurrant, and note it is not particularly potent used alone. Its signature is the cassis lift of the Givaudan captive Neocaspirene, present at a few percent of the base, while the herbal-green undertone keeps the fruit from turning candied. In a formula it is a ready-made red and exotic fruit accord that needs no adjustment, working across the top and heart with a little carry into the base; suppliers suggest a few tenths of a percent up to about five percent of the base in the finished composition, and warn that aggressive media such as soaps and deodorants will partly compromise it.
