What does Coffeetone Natural smell like?
Advanced Biotech's own specification gives it as a pale yellow to tan liquid whose odour is roasted coffee. It is the house's straight coffee tone rather than a bean extract or a distillate: dark and dry-roasted rather than sweet, closer to ground espresso than to a coffee dessert. Insoluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents, so it drops directly into an alcoholic base. In a formula it carries an entire coffee accord in one bottle beneath gourmand, tobacco and dark amber constructions, and its roasted bitterness is what keeps vanilla and caramel from collapsing into sugar. It is dense and heavily coloured, so it is dosed as a trace and it will tint a pale concentrate.
